How can a pensioner get a temporary residence permit in Bulgaria?
Before getting a temporary residence permit in Bulgaria, the pensioner needs to get a visa “D”. Based on this visa, he/ she may enter the country and apply for a temporary residence permit in the migration office.

- A notary copy of the Notary Act. It is a document which confirms that the pensioner owns property in Bulgaria. The Notary Act can be formed only in Bulgaria).
- A bank certificate that the person has at least 7320 Leva (about 3700 Euro) in his/ her account.
- A copy of the foreign passport.
- A criminal certificate that the person is not prosecuted.
- A one year medical insurance issued by a Bulgarian company.
- A certificate from a pension organisation that the person is a pensioner.
The Bulgarian visa “D” is valid for 6 months. Within this time the pensioner needs to get to Bulgaria and apply to the migration office for a temporary residence permit.
